HISTORY

Louis de Vernier is an historic cava. First introduced in the 80s it came to be an emblematic brand with great recognition nationwide due to its combination of classicism and modernity.
The history of Louis de Vernier is a success story, and sure enough, we wouldn’t be who we are without this cava. When you’re part of the fourth generation of a family that’s devoted to wine, you learn that only through effort and dedication do great projects arise. Those that not only get you closer to your clients, but also communicate the character of the winery. That’s why we continue to honor our legacy through this brand that has seen us grow.

VINEYARD

Climate conditions of the Penedès are typically Mediterranean, soft and warm. However, mountains and structural depressions contribute to the creation of well-defined microclimates, and diverse soils. We monitor and select every parcel to obtain the expression that we seek in our products.
The grapes we use to produce this range of cavas comes from our own vineyards. We produce a classic coupage, made with 33.3% of each variety.

From our vineyards located around the town of Vilafranca del Penedès, an area historically dedicated to the production of this variety. Our Macabeo has an average yield of 10.000kg/ha, producing grapes of great concentration and good acidity.

We grow this variety in vineyards located around the winery. The area in which we are located is perfect for Xarel·lo, as it’s comprised by rich and vigorous soils. This variety provides structure, acidity and the necessary body to age our cavas.

Our location, near the Alt Penedes, allows us to harvest Parellada in high altitude areas, where this variety shows its best. Elegant wines, aromatic and with medium structure. Parellada has traditionally been the trademark of Louis de Vernier, as it provides the freshness that our consumers recognize.
